FF7 Remake Endgame Content Teased

Since its debut on the original PlayStation, Final Fantasy VII is defined by its story, characters, and graphics. But like most JRPGs, players enjoy the grind of completing super bosses, side quests, and other “endgame content.” When SquareEnix revealed that the FF7 Remake contains only the initial Midgar scene, fans were concerned that the amount of content would not justify a $59.99 USD price tag. In a recent interview with SquareEnix, series co-Director Naoki Hamaguchi put these concerns to rest.

Now We’re in the Endgame

Since the transition to PlayStation, hardcore fans have defined the Final Fantasy series by its endgame content. From super weapons to super bosses, the FF community embraces the challenges associated with each new installment. But the community’s main concern with the FF7 Remake involves the amount of endgame content. In a recent interview, Naoki Hamaguchi attempted to put these concerns to rest.

When asked the question, “Fans expect a lot from Final Fantasy, such as secrets or hidden bosses. Is this the case in FF7 Remake?,” Hamaguchi had an interesting response.

I will say, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE has been designed as if it were a standalone game, and comparable in size to other mainline FINAL FANTASY games.

The content you mentioned from other FINAL FANTASY games… I don’t want to say precisely what’s in FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, but if you’re expecting endgame content, you won’t be disappointed.

Because the game takes places exclusively in Midgar, it will be interesting to see how Hamaguchi handles the endgame content. Will the game reset after the final boss? Will players be able to explore each area of Midgar at any time? Is the game linear, like the base game, or more open-ended, like Final Fantasy XV?

The good news is that fans will not have to wait too much longer for answers to these pressing questions. In just 10 short days, all of our questions will be accompanied with answers.

Conclusion

While the details of the FF7 Remake endgame content are vague, is it encouraging that the game will be comparable to prior entries in the series . Although the remake is only the first few hours of the base game, it sounds as though players will have plenty to do after beating the final boss.
