Last month, Call of Duty War Warzone hinted at a return to the Black Ops series. Fans discovered Russian codecs, weapons, and a host of dialogue in Warzone vaults. While exciting, Activision has yet to reveal details or a gameplay trailer. But that has not stopped the Internet from scouring for information. In a surprising reveal, multiple sources are claiming to possess an alpha build for Call of Duty 2020. Let’s dive in.

Vault of Secrets

Just four weeks ago, Activision updated Call of Duty Warzone to include Key Cards, which opened vaults. Fans quickly uncovered a plethora of Easter eggs and cryptic messages. The collection of evidence points towards a reboot of the Black Ops series.

Activision has yet to reveal gameplay footage of the next game; however, fans might have discovered a pre-alpha version of the game. Multiple Twitter users posted videos, which caused Twitter to take action. But multiple sites continue to host the video. An 80 second video can be found here.

Use caution with the next piece of news. Twitter user @walshburg, whose account is suspended, claims that the Call of Duty 2020 footage is running in the Black Ops 4 engine. He further claims that the leaked video is an early alpha build and does not represent the final product.

While this leak is interesting, we do not know if the video represents Activision’s current progress on the game. Because Call of Duty games typically follow a winter release schedule, the video is likely an initial build of the game. Activision first revealed Modern Warfare 2019 in late May 2019; therefore, fans can expect more Call of Duty news in the upcoming weeks.
