Animal Crossing New Horizons Nature Event Announced

Random number generator (RNG) has plagued gamers for decades. Dubbed the “speedrun killer”, RNG is slowly infiltrating more video game franchises. While most gamers can tolerate a degree of randomness, an unbalanced experience is equally frustrating and debilitating. The Animal Crossing community witnessed the epitome of deranged RNG with last month’s Bunny Day event. Despite an outpouring of fan rage, Nintendo revealed its second New Horizons event on Tuesday: Nature Day.
One of These Things is Not Like the Other
It is no secret that fans were outraged over the Animal Crossing Bunny Day event. In an effort to promote new content, Nintendo produced an update that resulted in a wildly imbalanced RNG. Players complained that Zipper’s eggs replaced key item drops, which included stones, wood, fish, balloon prizes, and other collectibles. Nintendo received so much outrage that the developer quickly produced a patch to balance the RNG. Now two weeks later, Nintendo of America announced the next New Horizons event: Nature Day.
Although fans have every right to be skeptical of Animal Crossing’s next event, Nintendo is structuring the Nature Day event much differently. Instead of altering the game’s RNG with craftable items, Nature Day aims to reward players for completing unique Nook Miles+ challenges. From the images posted by Nintendo of America, the Nook Miles+ multiplier is increased from 2X to 5X for Nature Day challenges. Examples of these tasks include planting shrubs, watering plants, and other familiar chores. So get ready to rack up those Nook miles and set sail for new horizons. Literally.
Conclusion
While Animal Crossing games routinely host season events, New Horizons got off to a rough start with Bunny Day.
